National Art Glass Gallery - Wagga Wagga

Wagga Wagga Civic Centre, Art Gallery and
National Art Glass Gallery
Glass is good! Australia's National Art Glass Gallery is to be found in the regional city of Wagga Wagga in New South Wales. And the current collection has been in the making since 1979 when the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery began collecting studio glass.

The glass gallery space is over two levels and is adjacent and adjoining the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, which is all part of the Wagga Wagga Civic Centre.

It is a wonderful space and a fabulous collection. I was really impressed by what I saw there.

I was fortunate to attend an opening night last month which saw several exhibitions being officially opened. One of those was by the glass artist Kate Baker titled 'Within Matter'. Her work is incredible.

The exhibition runs from 15 July – 8 October 2017.

Exhibition/gallery address –
Cnr Baylis & Morrow Streets, Wagga Wagga NSW 2650

Kate is a contemporary Australian artist who works primarily in kiln formed studio glass. She is based in Sydney, where in 2014 she founded Studio4, a glass kiln forming and printmaking studio.

Congratulations Kate on this fabulous exhibition.

And to Wagga Wagga Art Gallery, it's my second visit. I came all the way from Melbourne to see your impressive regional gallery. I write this post to try and spread the word about your wonderful space, collection and exhibitions. I love the gallery's gift shop too. Lots of temptations.

Wagga Wagga is 452 kms from Melbourne, 461 kms to Sydney, 245 kms to Canberra, 1243 kms to Brisbane, and 917 kms to Adelaide (Perth is a lot further, so is Darwin, and not forgetting Hobart – you'll need a boat or plane!)

Enjoy.
